March 2016 Glen of Fairway Homes started a 2 month extension (orangery, shower room and extended kitchen (kitchen beautifully fitted by Classics Kitchen). All was going well until I refused to release a payment outside of the agreed plan. Glen then refused to purchase the rest of the materials. More surprisingly he refused to get his fitter to collect and install the custom made window I had already purchase. Other materials I was told to purchase initially, just laid around gathering dust.His behaviour was very unprofessional, childish and even threatening. He blatantly refused to correct errors highlighted by the Building Inspector and subsequently walked off the job. After several months of nothing, his arbitrator came up with a peace deal. Glen did nothing to honour this and 6 months later I started again with other tradesmen. Thankfully, the gas and electric contractor agreed to complete what they stared, if I paid them separately. The project was finally signed off December 2017, after getting a builder to redo the drains.His initial speech is great, and his plastering is excellent (except around the frames). Yes he does rely on word of mouth, but it appears that he has hand-picked a few customers that he has worked well for to give him a glowing reference. I personally visited all 3 of his references and inspected the work done; they could not fault him in anyway: on time; budget and to the plan. At first I thought perhaps its because Im a single female, but I have since learnt that he has treated a number of people in this manner, and I would like to spare you the headache and heartache I endured.
